This is a picture of my friend Svein

He’s from Tonstad, Norway. He came up to my house one day and we started talking. Svein was here on vacation for a couple days with his wife and he had never been out of Norway. He’s 61 years old. I ran into Svein again in town and we got to talk some more. I invited him over to our house to have some tea or coffee and talk. He told me he would try to come the next day. He showed up and we got to have some really good conversations. I learned about his family and his hometown. He’s a baker and runs a bakery with two other guys in a 700 person village in Norway. He has five kids and some grandkids. Since he is 61 years old and I’m only 21 I asked him what he would tell a 21 year old if he could say one thing. He said that was a big question and laughed. That question lead to an awesome and humbling experience. It was humbling to receive wisdom from a man who has 40 years on me. On his last day in Mijas, Svein came to say goodbye to me. We were sitting on a curb talking and he told me he had a gift for me. Svein pulled out 100 euros from his wallet and told me to go buy a book or something I needed. It meant so much to me to receive that from a person who was a stranger a week ago. All I could do was sit there and receive his gift and I couldn’t give him anything back, but a thank you and hug goodbye.
